Introduction
Hello everyone! I’ve had this revamped portfolio for a while, but I wasn’t able to make time to start making these blog posts until now. I’ve put alot of work into formatting these and getting things looking right, so hopefully reading these isn’t too unpleasant (atleast aesthetically).
Roadmap
There is quite a lot left to be done in my opinion. I want to have proper development posts with code and graphics breakdowns, journaling my experiences. Additionally, I want to have summary posts of existing projects to provide more detail on the challenges that were overcome in order to facilitate their creation. So, here is an outline of what to expect down the road from me.
1. More of These! (Much Higher Quality Too)
My first major goal is to create blog posts for all of my existing projects. I have alot to say about some of them, certainly much more than can fit on a pretty little Bootstrap card. With regards to these posts going forward, expect much more subtstance - image breakdowns, code review, embedded maths equations and more. I will be treating these blog entries as capstones for those projects - a neat summary of everything I learned and achieved by creating them.
$$ E_{effort} \times C_{consistency} = R_{results} $$
I also want to start documenting all the work I do on future projects. Naturally, they will also get their capstone posts, but I would like to try my hand at writing some stuff up during the development process. This will likely be broken up into parts, as opposed to one big “WIP”-style post. I think it would be nice for my personal development to try and articulate every major milestone of my future work.
2. Missing Projects
Additionally, I want to update the projects section in general, as it is missing some of my best work, including my dissertation and native PS5 game engine. These projects in particular will be added first as cards, and will likely have their blog posts written up first while the work is still fresh.
3. Some Personal Posts
As this is still my professional portfolio site, I will try not to get too informal. But, I have recently started to slowly get back into my hobbies of writing music and competing in fighting games again. I am considering writing some of these adventures up here as I realise I really enjoy talking about them - and after getting through my dissertation I realised just how much I actually liked writing.
‘Till Next Time
I hope this wasn’t too painful to read, and I hope the quality will continue to increase as I keep writing. Short one just for now - I am still in the throes of my Master’s year of university. However, I woke up with the sudden determination (read: stress of the graduate job search) to get this feature ready to go, and I wanted a post on the site to inform potential employers of what’s up with the site and my work.
All that’s really left to say is “Till next time…”.
